Thets Node

Overview

Thets nodes are easy to run and require minimal resources, acting as the network’s gateway to the internet. Node operators (users) are rewarded for the traffic relayed through their nodes, with rewards based on their reputation score and geographical demand.

Thets nodes have two primary functions:

  1. Relay traffic (web requests) initiated by the client and directed by the validator.

  2. Return encrypted web server responses to the designated router.

Running a Node

Running a Node is free and easy.

The process is simple:

  1. Download the application

  2. Create an account

  3. Connect to the network

Node Operation

Upon connecting, Thets nodes are automatically registered on the network. Node operators are responsible for maintaining network uptime, enabling the nodes to relay web requests to public web servers.

Each request sent to a Thets Node is an encrypted data packet that directs the node to the packet's destination. Web requests are authenticated using digital signatures from all involved parties. These signatures verify the legitimacy of the requests, ensuring they are forwarded to the correct web servers (public websites). This end-to-end encryption prevents data tampering and allows validators to accurately measure each node’s reputation.

Node Reputation Scoring

Thets nodes earn a reputation score based on several key factors:

  1. Data Integrity: Ensures that the data provided is complete and free from missing elements, containing all necessary information for its intended application.

  2. Uniformity: Examines the consistency of data, maintaining regularity across different datasets and within the same dataset over time.

  3. Recency: Evaluates whether the data is current and updated as required, ensuring it remains relevant and timely.

  4. Reliability: Measures the availability of data from each node, determining how consistently the data can be accessed when needed.

These factors collectively contribute to the reputation score of each Thets node, reflecting its trustworthiness and efficiency within the network.

Privacy and Security

The Thets network respects your privacy and does not access or monitor any activity on your device. It simply routes internet traffic through your IP address, entirely separate from your personal activities. This ensures that your personal data remains completely secure and inaccessible. The only data being collected is publicly available web data, ensuring complete transparency and privacy.
